The motto of this year's festival as well as this year’s photo and film competition TROTZDEM! – which roughly translates to “regardless” – was a result of the circumstances that have influenced our lives since the beginning of 2020, as well as overcoming them. 

​

One of our topics titled Antisemitism and the fight against it within Austrian politics explores the local Jewish culture, that regardless of its history of persecution and oppression has remained alive and persistent.

​

TROTZDEM! as a motivation to

  •          defy difficulties

  •          defy setbacks

 

TROTZDEM! can connect opposites with one another:

  •          coexistence despite differences

  •          survival despite persecution

  •          laughter despite difficulties

  •          joy of living despite illness

  •          hope of peace despite conflicts

 

Nevertheless, the meaning of the motto shall not be limited.

Now we’re interested in your creative interpretation of TROTZDEM!

 

Send us your work by September 15th  2021

 

  •          Photographs and photo collages

  •          Short films of any genre or style up to 3 min. (incl. credits)

  •          Short animations of any genre or technique up to 3 min.        (incl. credits)

 

Any available technology can be used for the creation of the work.

By participating in the contest, you agree that your work can be shown on social media, in the cinema, on TV and in exhibitions.
 

When using third-party music or images, all sources must be specified.

The film authors are responsible for the acquisition of rights.

 

The winner of each category will be awarded € 700,-.

Additionally, a bonus of € 500,- can be given to productions of higher expenses.

 

​The winners will be elected by a jury. Originality of concept and the overall impression of the production will be rated higher than the technical execution.

Individuals and teams are eligible to participate, except for jury members and their families.

Das Motto unseres diesjährigen Festivals wie auch des diesjährigen Foto- und Filmwettbewerbs TROTZDEM! ergab sich aus den Umständen, die seit Anfang 2020 unser aller Leben beeinflusst haben, wie auch dem Überwinden derselben.

 

Unser Programmpunkt Antisemitismus und dessen Bekämpfung in der österreichischen Politik blickt auf die einheimische jüdische Kultur, die TROTZ ihrer Geschichte der Verfolgung und Unterdrückung lebendig und beständig ist.
 

TROTZDEM! als Motivation um

  •        Schwierigkeiten zu trotzen

  •        Rückschlägen zu trotzen

 

TROTZDEM! kann Gegensätze miteinander verbinden:

  •        Zusammenleben trotz Unterschiede

  •        (Über)leben trotz Verfolgung

  •        Lachen trotz Schwierigkeiten

  •        Lebensfreude trotz Krankheit

  •        Hoffnung auf Frieden trotz Konflikte …
    ​

Die Bedeutung des Mottos soll sich jedoch nicht darauf beschränken.

 

Eure kreative Interpretation von TROTZDEM! ist nun gefragt!

 

Schick uns dazu dein Werk bis zum 15. September 2021

 

  •         Fotografien und Fotocollagen

  •         Kurzfilme aller Genres und Stile bis zu 3 Min. (inkl. Credits)

  •         Kurze Animationsfilme aller Genres und Technik bis zu 3 Min.
            (inkl. Credits)

Für die Erstellung des Werkes kann jede verfügbare Technologie verwendet werden.

Mit der Teilnahme stimmst du zu, dass dein Werk öffentlich auf Social Media, im Kino, Fernsehen bzw. auf Ausstellungen gezeigt wird.
 

Bei der Verwendung von fremdem Musik- bzw. Bildmaterial sind die Quellen anzugeben.
Die Verantwortung für den Rechteerwerb liegt bei den Film-Autor*innen.

 

Gewinner*innen jeder Kategorie erhalten € 700,-.
Zusätzlich ist eine Prämie von bis zu € 500,- für besonders kostenaufwendige Produktionen möglich.

​

Die Gewinner*innen werden von einer Jury bestimmt. Die Originalität des Konzepts und der Gesamteindruck werden höher bewertet als die technische Ausführung.

Zugelassen sind Einzelpersonen und Teams, ausgenommen der Jurymitglieder und deren Familien.
