Israel im Jahr 1973: Menashe leidet aufgrund seiner Erlebnisse als Soldat im Sechstagekrieg an einer Posttraumatischen Belastungsstörung. In der Nachbarschaft als „verrückt“ stigmatisiert, wirkt sich seine Krankheit belastend auf Ehefrau Daphna und Sohn Shlomi aus. Die beiden versuchen, ihm zu helfen, und erzielen dabei kleine, vergängliche Erfolge. Doch der als Yom-Kippur-Krieg bekannte Großangriff auf Israel wirft die Familie zurück an den Anfang. 
Dieser sensible Film kann als Analogie verstanden werden: Die Kriegsverletzungen haben zwischen den Episoden des israelischen Existenzkampfes kaum Zeit zu verheilen.

Israel in 1973: Since father Menashe returned from Six Day War with a battle shock, he suffers from a Posttraumatic stress disorder. Stigmatized as “crazy” within the neighbourhood, his illness is a burden to his wife Daphna and his son Shlomi. His family tries to help him and achieves small successes. The Yom Kippur War, an existential military aggression against Israel, returns the family to what they tried to get over with. 
This sensitive picture highlights an analogy: Between the episodes of the Israeli fight for existence, there is a lack of time for battle wounds to heal.
