Aus den 350 Stunden Videomaterial für Shoah entstand u.a. der weniger bekannte Folgefilm Sobibor, 14 Octobre 1943, 16 Heures, welcher den jüdischen Widerstand im Vernichtungslager Sobibor zum Thema hat. 1979 in Jerusalem gefilmt, zeigt der Film ein Interview mit dem polnisch-stämmigen Juden Yehuda Lerner. Zum titelgebenden Datum ist dieser 16 Jahre alt. Mit dem Startsignal für den einzig erfolgreichen Aufstand in einem Konzentrationslager spaltet er dem SS-Aufseher namens Graetschus mit einer Axt den Schädel.
Auch in diesem Werk greift Claude Lanzmann auf gegenwärtige Aufnahmen der Vernichtungsorte zurück und verzichtet auf Archivaufnahmen. Im Zentrum der Dokumentation steht die Erzählung.

Out of the video sources for Shoah (1985), C. Lanzmann produced the movie Sobibor, 14 Octobre 1943, 16 Heures – a film on the Sobibór Uprising. Recorded in Jerusalem in 1979, the film centers on the narration of the Jew Yehuda Lerner, who was 16 at this particular date. Following the start signal, Lerner killed the SS-Guard Graetschus with an axe.
As in Shoah, Lanzmann avoids archive footage and focuses on narration and contemporary pictures instead.
