„The Cousin“ ist eine intelligente Komödie, die sich mit der Dynamik von Vorurteilen und Zivilcourage beschäftigt. Der linksliberale TV-Produzent Naftali engagiert auf Empfehlung seines palästinensischen Gärtners dessen Cousin Fahed. Als im Ort ein junges Mädchen missbraucht wird, verdächtigen Naftalis Nachbarn den fremden Handwerker. Die Geschichte von „The Cousin“ ist gewissermaßen eine universale. Sie könnte sich in jedem europäischen Dorf zutragen.

“The Cousin“ is an intelligent comedy that deals with the dynamics of prejudices. Liberal leftist TV producer Naftali is searching for a handyman to renovate his house. His gardener recommends his Palestinian cousin Fahed. When a young girl of the suburban neighbourhood is sexually assaulted, Naftali’s friends suspect Fahed to be the offender. The story of “The Cousin” is a universal one, it could equally happen in every European town.
